If you haven’t yet go to this post, where I explain if followers really important to have success on Pinterest.
Once you are done come back to this post.
Now, before you go ahead and read my advice I want you to check if I actually know what I am talking about. You can find people saying totally opposite things so it is good to know who to listen too. At this moment I have 4k followers and reach almost 6M people on Pinterest.
If your goal is to get 100k followers and have 6m reach than you are just going to hurt your pins performance.
You don’t need followers who do not engage with your content. It is most important to have huge reach, not huge following.
How to grow your reach and following – the only smart way
The smart way to get followers is to follow people who have boards they could save your pins to. Eg if you have a beauty blog with hair ideas, nail ideas, makeup ideas, then you want to follow people who have the same boards, why – because they are interested in the same content. Once you follow them, pin some of they content there is a chance they will see you engaged and they check out your account. If they like what you share they might follow you back and when your pins start showing up in their feed they are way more likely to pin them than those who don’t have related boards.
How to find those people.
The easiest way is to look for the keywords you have in your boards, if your board is called hairstyle ideas, that is what you should put in the search bar. Then pin the best content you can find and see who pinned it and where, click on the board, and if it has more great quality related content than follow them.
This is honestly the best way to grow your account with people who are likely to engage. You will see how fast your account will grow.
Now you may think, how much time it is going to take you to grow your followers.
I would recommend with 20-30 minutes a day. Pick 5 boards/keywords you want to target that day, pin the content – about 20 pins per account- which would give you 100 new pins, and from there you should easily follow 30 accounts. Why not 100- as you can find the same account owner or they boards don’t really have similar content. Do this for a month and see how your account will grow. If you don’t have the 20-30 mins a day to do it, just outsource it. It is super simple and you can easily find people who are willing to make some $ that way.
