Pinterest users are on the platform because of their own choice. 2/3 of the pins they see are actually ads. What I mean by that is when you click on a pin you will be redirected to a website where you can find out more. This is essentially an ad that Pinterest users don’t feel like they are looking at an ad. When you see fb ad, once you click on it the company have to pay for the click, with Pinterest it is free.

Pinterest is a search engine and social media 2in1. When you add a Pin your followers are going to see it in their feed. Once they repin it to their board then it is being seen by this board followers, and so on.
It means pins can get extremely viral. The more people repin your pin the higher the reach of this pin. Even if you decide to delete the pin you posted, the repinned copies are still going to be there. Even if you delete your Pinterest account those pins are still going to be there and drive traffic to your site. Pins last forever. And the more they get repinned the more they get repinned as Pinterest prioritises pins with higher ratio of repins.
Users on Pinterest seem pretty content to simply find and save pins to their own boards, they don’t have to share the content with others for it to go viral.
Let me explain, when you see a video on Facebook you have to share it to your timeline and show your friends what you like for it to get more reach. On Pinterest you simply save to your board and the algoritm picks it up. It never explaines who pinned it, you just see pins that were pinned by the people you follow. As on any social media you can enjoy something and like it but you not necesarly feel the need to share each thing with your audience. This is good for your business! Why?
